    Shrub to 1 m tall, heavily browsed; locally uncommon in dry sandy-gravelly soil, SW corner of property, near fence, in sagebrush scrub with Purshia tridentata.

  • Purshia tridentata var. glandulosa

    Shrub to 1 m tall, petals pale yellow, locally uncommon in dry sand-silt-gravel, SW corner of property; in sagebrush scrub with Purshia tridentata, Artemisia tridentata.

  • Purshia tridentata var. tridentata

    Very common shrub to 0.5 m tall, corollas pale yellow. On sunny west-facing sagebrush-covered moraine with Artemisia tridentata, Symphoricarpos vaccinoides.

  • Ribes cereum var. cereum

    Decidaous shrub to 1.5 m tall, corollas pink; occasional in dry sandy-gravelly soil, W of manmade stream channels, in sagebrush scrub with Purshia tridentata; Leymus cinereus.

  • Rorippa sphaerocarpa

    Annual, petals yellow, locally uncommon in wet sandy soil with cobbles, on shaded west bank of Convict Creek, west end of property.

  • Rosa woodsii var. ultramontana

    Thicket-forming shrub to 1.5 m, petals deep pink; common in wet meadow, east end of property, newar Convict Creek; with Carex spp./ Senecio hydrophilus, Potentilla gracilis var. elmeri.

  • Rumex paucifolius

    Occ annual herb, flowers pinkish, in loose gravelly soil on dry, south-facing, chapparral-covered slope with Arctostaphylos patula, Ceanothus cordulatus

  • Salix

    Shrub to 3 m tall, along the entrance road near the dormitory. Pistillate plant.

  • Salix exigua

    Deciduous shrub to 2.5 m; edges of dry meadows, on east island between branches of Convict Creek.

  • Salix lutea

    Shrub to 3m tall, common on meadow margins and on the banks of Convict Creek, north of central stream control structure. Pistillate plant.

  • Salsola tragus

    Occasional, moist to dry sandy-gravelly soil, distrubed sites along enterance road, near buildings and in vicinity of constructed stream cahnnels. Annual herb, to 0.5 m tall.

  • Senecio hydrophilus

    Perennial herb, ligules yellow, common in wet meadows, east end of property near Convic Creek with Carex utriculata, Erigeron pereginus, Cirsum congdonii.

  • Shepherdia argentea

    Shrub to 6 m tall, locally uncommon, a few individuals within aspen grove, northwest corner of property, with Populus trimendulodes.

  • Sisymbrium altissimum

    Annual herb, petals yellow; common waste soil piles near manmade stream channels

  • Sisyrinchium halophilum

    Perennial herb, corollas purple; common in meadow north side of central stream control structure; with Carex spp., Penstemon oreocharis, Deschampsia cespitosa.

  • Smilacina stellata

    Perennial herb, rhizomatous, corollas white; very common in sandy-gravelly soil, drier margins of meadows near Convict Creek, east end of property; with Astragalus canadensis var brevidens, Salix lutea. El. 7075 ft.

  • Solidago canadensis ssp. elongata

    Occasional per. herb, to 7 dm tall, heads yellow, in moist places around man-made trout ponds and near meadow with Epilobium ansurtifolium.

  • Sphenosciadium capitellatum

    Perennial herb, flowers white; occasional on banks of Convict Creek, amoung willows, northeast corner of property; with Salix exigua, S. lutea.

  • Sporobolus cryptandrus

    Perennial, stems tufted; locally uncommon in distrubed, irrigated area west of headquarters building; with Conyza canadensis, Erigeron divergens.
