Get Involved

Community support is critical to the continued success of the reserve. There are two primary ways to help us: giving and volunteering. Gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations augment our base funding from the University and enable us to offer a variety of public outreach and educational programs. Volunteers help us steward our natural resources and lead tours of the reserve.

Ways to Give

To ensure that SNARL will always have the resources it needs, we encourage you to consider extending your generosity beyond your lifetime by naming the UC Santa Barbara Foundation in your will for the benefit of the Valentine Reserves.

Volunteering

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our programs. Volunteers teach in our Outdoor Science Education Program, help with resource management, and lead tours of the reserves.

Why support us

The Sierra Nevada Aquatic Research Laboratory provides state-of-the-art facilities and programs supporting research, teaching and outreach in a part of the state far from any university campus.
