Lincoln’s Sparrow

Lincoln's Sparrow

Scientific Name:Melospiza lincolnii
Class:Ave
Order:Passeriformes
Family:Passerellidae
Genus:Melospiza

The tan and brown streaked color of the Lincoln’s Sparrow helps to camoflauge the bird within branches of shrubs and trees. As they subsist heavily on insects by searching for catepillars, beetles, and other insects under the thickets on the ground, they can be found hopping around on the ground.
