The Brown-headed Cowbird’s name derives from the males physical apperance. Male birds have in-fact a brown head and a jet-black body while females have brown patterns on their back and wings. They live in grasslands with scattered trees in which they nest in. They eat seeds on the ground and live within flocks of thousands of birds in the winter.
VESR falls within the breeding zone of the Brown-headed Cowbird.
