The Barn Swallow flaunts its metallic-blue wings and back and its burnt orange face while foraging food in the air. Searching for food in the air, the wings and tail feathers fan out to help the swallow glide in the air. You can find Barn Swallows living in elevations anywhere from sea level to 10,000 feet. The Barn Swallow get their name from often nesting in the cross beams on barns along with other human-made structures.
