SNARL is honored to be the new home for the Phil Pister library. The library contains the large collection of Sierra Nevada books, notes, papers and awards that Phil Pister has accumulated over his lifetime. In addition to the library, UC Santa Barbara will soon become the permanent home for the Phil Pister Eastern Sierra Photo Collection. This collection of over 24,000 slides record a rich history of southwestern fishes, landscapes, and ecology. Many of these images are aerial photographs over the Sierra Nevada and can help scientists understand this rugged landscape. The slides start as far back as the 1940s.
Researchers visiting SNARL have unlimited access to this library located in the historical headquarters building. The library is also equipped with a printer/scanner and smart screen TV
