Mallards live in wetlands, estuaries, and ponds of water throughout North America. The breeding males have a bright green head with a grey body and black stripe. The female mallards have a brown and black patterning along her wings and body. They are omnivores and feed by dabbling for food. These species are capable for living in urban areas and are even considered invasive in some regions.
